That climbs looks like it needs the correct driver. You made it look easy. I like challenges like that. You need to drive it correctly. Nothing to do with the car.

Very impressive! Is your MFD pretty accurate?

Had an A4 exactly like that one, also blew the head gasket due to very sudden overheating, thereafter one thing after the other went wrong, was never the same again.

Those 2 is in our garage at this stage. Luckily it is the Audi that has helped the T more than the other way around... numerous times we had to jump start the T from the running Audi.. the Audi is almost at 260, 000, with very few (major) issues

    Did the inspector approve it?

Do you have a sunroof in your vehicle, if it has, use it you are going the rubberneck just once to far and fall out the driver's window.

    Yes, the inspector approved.

    No sunroof on mine.

Nothing to report other than another towing trip tomorrow. This time it's not a flatbed but the caravan.

Not far though, just up the coast to a nice resort.

Camping keeps me sane. Depression comes from not camping enough.

And yes I'm towing with EGR blanked, gutted CAT and a dose of 2so while I'm bellowing extra emissions for the trees. Fight away, I'm going camping.

A weekend away does wonders to the soul. It was nice to celebrate a friend's birthday this way.

And when the camping spot is about 40 minutes away the costs are minimal.

Marius, after reading most of the thread, I only have one question:

The vehicle failed within 6 months of purchase from a dealer. You were fully covered by the CPA. Why did you not make it the dealers responsibility to fix it?

    Everybody gave me the finger.

    RMI
    Dealer
    Ombudsman
    Bank

Even a lawyer said I will waste my time and money chasing after them.

    How?

I've had 2 vehicles refunded in full for far less serious failures than what you experienced, and neither cost me a cent in lawyers fees.

It's simple, they sold it, they are liable if it fails within 6 months. It's the price they pay for making a profit out of it.

I tried every avenue I could. I have a file full of documentation.

I'm still paying on the engine so don't go picking at scabs. I'm stuck in my job I have until the engine is paid off (long story). I can't sell the car. I will only get for it what I owe the bank and then I still have to pay the loan on the engine. I have made peace with it and learned a great deal from the whole saga.

At the end of the day the car is now sorted and I have regained confidence in it. I realised that the issues at hand wasn't the car's fault. Some mechanic made a stuff up. That's life. You take the shots and you make the best of it.

Hopefully in a little less than 3 years the car will be paid, engine paid, and hopefully I will be qualified. I can then make a fresh start and take it from there.

Not picking at scabs, just trying to understand how a dealer sale could go so pear shaped.

Just to clarify something, did you report the failure to the dealer before or after you had someone else (or yourself) work on the vehicle to establish the cause of the problem ?

Can't remember the exact sequence of events.

I think I pulled the dealer in after VW did a compression test. I realise if I buy high mileage second hand it may need some work and it's not always reasonable to ask the seller to fix everything.

My reason for going to the dealer was because Keith (Fluffy) picked up a slight vibration when he test drove the car for me. I was stupid to ignore that warning sign but it indicated to me that the problem was there before purchase and hopefully the dealer will come to the party to help me fix the car.
