    Default Moreswe campsite/Khutse--CKGR/Motopi ?

    The option to drive from Khutse Game Reserve/Moreswe camp site
    to CKGR Motopi Campsite was presented to us as a possibility.
    But we think the distance is much to great to do in one day.
    Distance =...?
    Anybody done this before?
    Is Motopi- Central Kalahari an good option?
    Ideas for stops in between the 2 campsites?

    Hi,

    T4A says one day for the nearly 500 km through CKGR.

    It is simply ridiculous, average speed will be 20/30 kmh, and remember you may not (and cannot) drive more than 40 kph in Bots's NP's, you need at the very least two days, more realistic 3 days (did Khutse / Ghanzi via Xade in 2008, Xade / Deception last April).

    The other option might be to drive back to the Trans Kalahari and drive on tar, it is 900 km.

    You can overnight at Xade (30 Pulla pp, it is still administrated from DWNP), will then have to bush camp between Khutse and Xade.

    Another point: I see you are dutch; if you do not have the right car (4x4 with diff lock), and / or if you are not use to driving through deep sand, you should better avoid Khutse / Xade unless you are a convoy of at least two vehicles (I did it on my own in 2008, but had already lots of bush driving behind me)...

    Otherwise, if you like the desert, it is fantastic...

    Cheers
