Default Touareg T1 : 09 - Cent. Electrics coding .XLS file

Thought it may be useful. Used it earlier to try and diagnose my faulty lights.

Fill in the green bar with 1's where you need those options. It will kick out a decimal coding for the "09 - Cent. Electrics" Recoding in VagCom/VCDS.

    Thanks for the input mate...

One can see you've been working with the VagCom before.

I'm glad that we now have two TReg wizards; you with the R5 and Dieter with the V6 TDi's...

I look forward to see some TReg articles on your D.I.Y website...

With regards to your xls file:
Did one get "coming home lights" on the 2004-2006 TRegs?
Maybe it was only available with the "AUTO" lights function.

Switch ignition on but don't start the car.

Hold the scroll wheel on the steering pushed in for 2 seconds.

Use the window button just above it to scroll to the convenience menu

See if you have coming home lights there.

There is also a few other options that you can fiddle with.

I've played with these menus and know them quite well on my TReg.
I'm 100% sure that I do not have this function.

Our Jetta has the coming and leaving home lights functions where you can manually adjust the timing to your preference.

Easy way to test if your vehicle has this function, switch vehicle off and remove keys from the ignition.
Pull the "brights" stalk as you would to flash brights and check if your head lights stays on for a timed duration.
For cars with auto lights it must be dark outside and the lights switch needs to be set to the off ("0") position for this to work.

Coming home function is part of the 'Light and Sight' package, which was an extra, which most Treg's actually seem to have.

Probably just a matter of coding to get this activated.

    * consumption needs to be seen in the context that the vehicle is towing an Imagine Trailvan 50% of the time.

I remember now one of my friends said the same thing and the auto lights function forms part of this optional "Light and Sight" package.
Nowadays this is pretty much standard on all new VW's.
