Default FJ Cruiser Pic Thread / Upgrades / Mods

    Hi
I just thought a thread like this would help all FJ owners and drivers.
Am sure everyone has some accessories, modificaton , or upgrade in mind.

    Me...
I plan on replacing the stock radio with my Kenwood Unit with Garmin Naviagtion.
I also would like a good looking set of wheels and tyres. Perhaps a roof rack that accommodates some spots. And a spare wheels cover that accommodates the rear view camera.
Here are some pics I found that I liked!Click image for larger version.

No diesel for FJ, apparently front suspension cannot handle heavier diesel motor.

I hope I never see a FJ with a diesel engine, it's just not right. It'll be like a Rubicon with an oil burner.

I had the Excel 85L tank installed, air helpers in the rear coils and dual battery. They had to move the car battery to the other side of the engine bay and installed a 130Ah on the original bracket.

I'll have more detail how all this works after my trip to Moz in Aug.

Mud tyres and other wheels are on the list after the Moz trip

Here's my first FJ camping trip to the Karoo.

yowzer cannot believe the r&d to fix up the chassis would be more than the billions toyo will rake in if they had a diesel version

hoffie, no offense using a fj and a rubi in the same sentence is just not right the rubi is in a league of its own. i took it to two trails for the first time this month, and the two lockers with swaybar disconnect makes it unstoppable
i know the fj is very capable but not even close to a rubi ...

Never driven both in extreme offroad conditions but from what I here the FJ is a lot closer than you suggest?? For me (and possibly most buyers) the FJ is in a different league.....especially the on road ride, it really has the best balance between offroad and on road, not everyone does grade 5's every weekend. Have you driven the FJ??

Bring your Rubi to Atlantis dunes and I'll show you how quickly it will stop. No vehicle is unstoppable.

You've driven the Rubi on 2 trails in a month, never driven an FJ and now you're an expert.

Read my post again, I didn't compare the two vehicles.

Same chassis, same suspension as a Prado 150. They come with diesel engines.....

Nee Uys, same suspension as the 120 Prado, same drive train as the 150.
