It was time to put the put the kassies together. The frame was painted

And I could put on the front and top side which is aluminium tread plate. Weathers strips for the back and bottom, to create a seal against the trailer

Top and bottom to fit with the rest of the tread plate on the design. The height of the kassies just below the drawer.

I removed the standard little trap doors on the mudguard en cut the hole bigger for better use of the space inside.
I also made a new trapdoor to cover the hole at the bottom

So as previously said I changed the doors to 3mm thread plate, to give sturdyness when you step on the kassie and lighter than the first doors I designed

The backside of the kassie is welded sheetmetal, which I painted so that it would match the design of the trailer.
This is then the tent side kassie to be used for bedding.

The next step was to attach the Nosecone doors.
First I assembled with D-rubber, then attached it to the nosecone.
Copied the plan for door stoppers as well.

I inserted the devider between the top part of the nosecone to use for wood and charcoal. The lid will be used to reach that. I used a pressure lock attached the pressure lock to secure the lid

I used gass shocks to help me lift the lid with the spare wheel on top. I had to get it repump to max pressure to do the job.

    Morning.

Just been through this thread page for page and has been an interesting read.

Will be looking at a XT 140 on Sunday, and if everything goes according to plan, will hopefully be purchasing it, after that the extension box must be put on, will build myself as Campworld in Boksburg quoted me R15500 excluding fitment for it, as well as a kitchen unit, quote on that was R8500, will also build my own.

My current trailer doesnt have a kitchen set up,and cant take much when loaded, also not a 4x4 trailer, only reason i bought it is wife can walk in and climb straight on to the bed, but it takes 2 of us to put it up and at least 2 hours, only used it twice since we bought it, if i have read correctly the XT140 can be put up by one person easily

will update this thread as i go along

    thanks for the interesting read

I have XT120. Very similar to XT140. I have packed mine on my own when SWAMBO was helping somebody. I can get it set up also on my own. Only item (in addition to washing dishes) that can be an issue is getting the tent up. I have to get the steel frame up. There is this long extendable pole for that purpose. When there are 2 no need. Only one person and it is better to have the pole.

Lets put it this way. Two of us have set up and packed ours faster than three people 2 small ground tents and they did not have any kitchen stuff.

Does anyone know someone who can build a single draw system and kitchen for my XT140?
