I don't think the R50 was ever sold here, was it? All the 'tube video's are from Europe.

Use a torque wrench to tighten, since I got decent big and small torque wrench it makes tightening sensitive or critical parts painless, leaves you with peace of mind as well once the job is done.

Tricky still with oily bolts onto soft aluminium.

Be very careful even if using a torque wrench.

You always nip them an 1/8th turn tomorrow if sweating. Repairing a stripped thread is not so simple.

Yes R50 was definitely sold here. Maybe not in large numbers but they were. I have seen them in that blue mostly but have also seen a couple of white ones and as usual a black one or three.

So this is what they were available in colour wise.

'The Biscay Blue paint will be exclusive to the R50, the VW R-range is known for its blue color, but the R50 will also be available in Campanella White, Reflex Silver, Black Magic and Atacam Grey.'

    The 4.2 v8 is faster yes but it just ain't a v10

The one I saw is also the blue. It is not for sale, I just drool over it every time I see it. It belongs to the owner of the Caltex in Gillitts. He owns a few Porches and a Ferarri too. I'll take a picture and post it next time.

That would be 4etouareg(385 000+km's-V10), followed by Marius[352 000+km's-R5](Not sure if his should count though as it has a new engine)Grap net!

Our V6 TDI is at just over 243 000km's now.
