    Dkk,

Where did you stay and condition of roads, water (if any)? Have not been there for long time but going 24th.

    Direction of travel?

    Thanks,

What kind of a mount do you have to put the bike there? I like that option much better than having a bike rack fitted behind the BL.

I mounted a Thule carrier on the nose box. It worked very well.

I did the Baviaans on my MTB and my wife pulled the Miskruier through the Kloof

    Thanks,
We came in at Willowmore and drove through to Patensie.
The gravel roads have very bad corrugations. My GoPro bike mount broke of half way through the Kloof.
The EC parks board fixed the bigger holes in the piece inside the park. This made it a lot easier than last year when there were big gaps between the pieces of concrete.

The water levels are low. The only running streams we got were inside the park area.

We stayed at Uitspan, Doodsklip and Kudu Kaya. The stay at Doodsklip was very good. Just a pity that no maintenance is done there by the Parksboard. The braaiers and tables are just as broken as last year.

Dis verseker so Weskusklong.

Oh man, I wish I could say the same thing! My 80 series cruiser (sold) was lifted 50mm and had 285/75 R16 KO2's on it with factory mud flaps. We drive bi-monthly on some horribly corrugated and un-maintained dirt roads traveling into the bush, and those roads and rocks have hammered the front of our caravan. There is an angled part on each side of the front of the caravan where the paint has been completely chipped away and the reflectors destroyed. Even the doors on my nosecone have bowed because of stones. Recently I had the rear window glass shatter on my new 200 GX-R (less than 3000km's). We were traveling into the bush for a ministry trip when a stone ricocheted off the caravan and smashed my rear window glass. There's a massive dent in one of the spare fuel cans where the rock hit. The new cruiser isn't lifted, has factory tyre's and has standard mud flaps. I'm now having a giant truck type mud flap built that will connect/disconnect to my rear tow hitch. That was an expensive lesson. Maybe it's the roads I travel, the vehicle/caravan combo, or maybe I'm just unlucky, but I won't be doing that again. Big stone guard it is for me!

Yoh David, loosing a rear window mid trip must be a bit of a nightmare.... Were you able to close the hole or did the window shatter but stay intact?

Mate, it sure was. We were 2 hrs into the trip, and had another hour to go. The glass was collapsing into the cruiser as I was stopping. It didn't stick around long. The corrugations are less corrugations and more like dirt waves rolling over the 'road' in close proximity.

I used some duct tape and a two plastic trash bags to repair it. When I arrived at our ministry destination, I cut open a space bag I had, and did a much better repair. Had to pay 200,000 Kwanzas ($1,300) for a supposedly new window glass that turned out to be scratched and used...

It's a good thing that we trust not in our own strength or resources but depend on Jesus for everything, otherwise we'd have left Angola long ago...

We've been using the net that runs under the A-frame with great success. The bonus is it keeps a lot of dust off the caravan as well.
